Upon a succesful synchronization, Fastbay “links” Prestashop products with eBay item in a unique way ,
by inserting the Prestashop ID product and the related eBay item number into a database table.
This operation will cause the product to be revised in a subsequent sync operation :
It is possible at any time to check the status of eBay synchronization of a product, by entering a Prestashop product sheet (tab named “Modules > Fastbay1”), you will see a that synchronized product will contains the unique eBay item number within the correspondant field.
This means that the product is linked in the module so it won’t be added again on eBay as a new product.
Keep in mind that any products already on eBay BEFORE the installation of Fastbay caannot be automatically recognized by the module, and it must be connected by entering the item number eBay in the field above, or in bulk (you can find a detailed article on how to do this in the FAQ part of the documentation).
This means that module will not be able to send a duplicate product if it is correctly connected to eBay, unless there are different issues.
Sending a duplicate product can only happen in the follow scenario :
– There is a “loss” of the synchronization information in the ps_fastbay1_product database table (following, for example, a re-installation of the module that is causing data deletion).
– You made some major Prestashop database modification (like changing / deleting / replacing ID products)
– Sending multiple identical products (with the same title) on the website with different IDs (the latter eventuality can be found by checking the personalized label of duplicate listings sent to eBay, if you use the label sending in “order filter” (see the Orders section for more information) you can easily trace back to the Prestashop product ID
which generated the advert.
