How to check server errors through the error log

Sometimes it may happen that the website is not visible due to some configuration errors and only a white page is displayed that does not allow us in any way to understand what is going on. In other cases it is the technicians who need further information in order to investigate a problem with an installed module.

In these cases it can be helpful to read the so-called error log, a text file that can contain information useful for solving the problem.
By reading the error log file it is possible to view detailed information relating to an Apache error 500 (the web server) or an Internal Server Error.

To view information relating to errors, you can use the functionality present in the control panel of your server (for example Plesk, cPanel) or through the server management tools provided by your Hosting provider. If you don’t have this information, we recommend that you ask your hosting manager for support.

How to pass information to technicians
The error log file can also contain thousands of lines of errors and notifications. It is a good practice to provide technicians only what is strictly necessary, by copying and pasting only the quantity of lines inherent to the moment in time when the error is presumed to have occurred.
