International sales can take place in several ways:
-
Through the eBay marketplace/country of your own nation
You can configure international shipping directly from the shipping settings in your eBay account, defining costs and services (up to 5 different configurations).
In this case, sales will take place through your main eBay site.
This option is the simplest: if you have already configured the module for your domestic marketplace, you only need to complete the international shipping settings and resync your products.
Please refer to the “Shipping” section of the site for more details on the configuration. -
By configuring and adding the marketplaces of various countries
Using the “Add marketplace” dropdown menu, you can add and configure other international eBay marketplaces.
In this case, products will be published directly on the eBay marketplaces of the selected countries.This method requires a dedicated module configuration for each marketplace, including:
- category mapping;
- shipping settings;
- price adjustments and possible markups;
- a dedicated description template.
When configuring shipping and related costs, the “domestic” country will be the one associated with the selected eBay marketplace
(e.g., if you sell from Italy but are configuring the German DE marketplace, the domestic shipping costs will refer to Germany).It is important to consider any specific rules of each international eBay marketplace and possible differences in listing/selling fees compared to your main marketplace.
Important note: when configuring a foreign marketplace, in the “General” tab you can also select the PrestaShop language from which the product data will be taken (title, description, features, etc.), allowing you to publish listings in the correct language for that marketplace.
-
Through the eBay European Expansion Program
This service, which can be activated directly through eBay, uses WebInterpret to automatically propagate your products to various European countries.
In this scenario, products only need to be published on your main account, and WebInterpret will replicate the listings across different international marketplaces.The Fastbay module can still be configured to download orders from all countries, but it should not be used to synchronize products.
This method offers a more automated solution to expand your international presence without the need to manually configure each marketplace.
