NOTE: Starting with version 6.5.4 of the module, variant-type specifications are highlighted in the module (yellow color),
Fastbay will automatically prevent a specification from being sent to eBay if there is an attribute on the site with the same name (see specifications part of the documentation for more details)
Following major changes in eBay’s mandatory specifics request for clothing categories in 2021,
it’s possible to easily come across errors related to these specifications that prevent the correct synchronization of previously products correctly sent by the module.
eBay now requires, for almost all categories, a value related to the Size (and often to the Color) of an item.
More specific categories, such as shoes, may require additional data such as EU Shoe Size, Composition etc.
This value could be sent to eBay as a variation (in the case of products with attributes on Prestashop)
or as a specification (in the case of “simple” products or if the data is not available in your Prestashop database).
However, it is not allowed to send the data BOTH as a variation AND as a specification: in this case the sending of the ad will end up with the eBay error
“Name used in item specifics cannot be used in variation specifics.”.
If you have the possibility of sending one of these data as a variation (recommended choice), you must not therefore map it as a specific
(although being marked as mandatory in the module), however, make sure that the name of the attribute in Prestashop is the same as required by eBay
(for example, if eBay requires a “Size” data, the attribute name cannot be called “Measure” in Prestashop).
Starting from version 6.3.3 Fastbay allows you to use at will Prestashop’s public or private attribute name for eBay (check general configuration),
so you can rename any group of attributes according to eBay’s requirements, without affecting the visible attribute names on your e-commerce.
If you don’t have the ability to send the data as a variation, value must be mapped as a “Specification” in the “Specifications/Conditions” tab so that
eBay receives a valid data and does not block the publication of the item.
