In this section you can benefit from some useful utilities in support of the module.
check for invalid barcodes
Through this utility you can check the EAN13 values for all your catalog in order to detect any formally incorrect barcodes which could therefore be rejected by Ebay.
The GTIN standard (of which EAN13 is part) states that the EAN13 code must meet validity requirements (for more information https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Article_Number).
By clicking “PERFORM CHECK” you can perform a lookup routine that will end up showing the number of EAN OKs and KOs.
Using the link “Download last report in CSV format” you can generate a CSV file that includes all the wrong EANs, along with ID and product title.
Two flags are provided to further filter search results:
– Skip products with quantity equal to zero
– Check only products already synchronized with eBay
It is also possible to launch a scan of your site’s EAN at regular intervals, using the cron link displayed on screen.
PRODUCT SHEET NOTIFICATION
After performing an EAN scan, if invalid codes are found, a dedicated banner will appear on the product tab.
ADVANCED PRODUCT RULES
In this section it is possible to define a custom text to be pre-pended to product description and custom delivery times that will be applied if one or more products have the chosen substring found in their “reference”.
This feature can be useful if you want to highlight certain products on eBay by managing everything directly from the module.
REPLACEMENT FOR PRODUCTS WITHOUT PICTURES
Here, you can upload a JPG image that will be sent to eBay if the product on Prestashop doesn’t have any images. (eBay recommends an image with the longer side between 800 and 1600 pixels).
DEFERRED UPLOAD OF EBAY IMAGE (v6.6.1 >)
This utility has been designed to address an issue on the eBay side reported by some sellers. The issue pertains to the thumbnail of products not being visible in the product listing after publication, along with the message “The listing is fine, but there is an issue with the gallery photos” displayed within the eBay listing.
You can find more details in this article.
If the product photos are correctly visible on eBay, you will not need this functionality.
However, if not, this utility allows you to upload images to eBay servers in a dedicated manner, independent of product synchronization. By clicking the “START” button, the module will scan the images of products to be synchronized or already synchronized, and it will initiate a cyclical procedure to upload them to eBay.
You will be able to monitor the progress of the procedure on-screen (during the uploading phase, please DO NOT close the working window) and any error messages returned by eBay.
Once the initial upload is completed, you will need to resynchronize the involved items at least once using the “Update all fields” mode. This will enable the module to utilize the link of the images already uploaded to eBay as the image source for your products.
Subsequently, you can automate the daily upload of new images by setting up the available cron job at regular intervals.
